EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art
EMMA is an art museum working in a responsible way, believing in the power of art to create visual and spatial experiences.
This museum specializing in modernism, contemporary art and design is situated in Tapiola, Espoo, in the WeeGee Exhibition Centre, a building whose architect Aarno Ruusuvuori originally planned it as a printing house. As to its surface, EMMA is the largest art museum in Finland. It opened to the public in 2006.
Several collections are deposited at EMMA, such as the Saastamoinen Foundation Art Collection, the Tapio Wirkkala Rut Bryk Foundation Collection as well as a significant part of the design collection Collection Kakkonen. In addition to these, EMMA is also continually adding to its own art collection.
